Surgical Services

We prioritize your pet's comfort and care from surgery to recovery.

At Hôpital vétérinaire Taschereau, our team is able to perform several types of surgical interventions. Whether it be to deal with an emergency that is causing your pet to suffer or a routine intervention like spaying or neutering, we will create a treatment plan to care for your pet. In all cases, a general examination and blood work will be done before the surgical procedure.

Which procedures are done at your hospital?

These are some of the routine surgical procedures performed at our establishment:

  • Spaying and neutering
  • Setting of certain fractures
  • Eye surgery
  • Removal of masses, cysts and tumours
  • Stitches
  • Feline arthroplasty
  • Hernia reduction

Are your veterinarians specialists?

Our team is made up of general practitioner veterinarians. When necessary, we refer you to a specialist colleague (cardiology, dermatology, orthopedics) so that your four-legged friend receives the best treatment possible.

What should I do to prepare my pet for an operation?

We realize that surgery can be stressful for you and your pet. How to prepare will depend on your pet’s situation. Since your pet will probably be given anesthesia, they are usually required to fast for a certain number of hours before the operation. Sometimes a prescribed medication has to be taken the day before the intervention. To make sure that your pet is in good shape and well rested, intense physical activity is to be avoided. Our team will take the time to put you at ease and answer all your questions.
